In addition to her classroom teaching, Dr. Louie has an active research program funded by the National Cancer Institute. Her lab is focused on understanding how hormone-refractory breast cancer develops, specifically looking at 1) the development of tamoxifen resistance and 2) the role of metalloestrogen and other endocrine disruptors in this process.
