Cheryl Suchors will be giving a reading about her new memoir "48 Peaks: Hiking and Healing in the White Mountains" at the Oakland Main Library. Her book is an inspirational story of a woman who overcame invasive breast cancer, a fear of lymphedema from carrying a backpack, and a fear of heights—to achieve her quest of hiking all 48 peaks over 4000 feet in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, starting out at age 48.
