Dr. Schettler received his MD from Case-Western Reserve University and MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. He practiced medicine for many years, then focused on working with community groups and non-governmental organizations in the US and internationally to address human health and the environment. He has served on advisory committees of the US EPA and National Academy of Sciences. In 2013, Dr. Schettler published The Ecology of Breast Cancer: The promise of Prevention and the Hope for Healing. He serves as science director for the Collaborative on Health and Environment and actively participates in the Health Care Without Harm coalition.
