rbf award 2016 v2In 2012, long time Marin Supervisor Hal Brown died of Cancer. Gov. Jerry Brown — who appointed Hal Brown to the board in 1982 — issued a statement honoring his cousin: "Hal was a champion for the people of Marin County, to whom he dedicated his life of public service. His concern for the community shined through in all of his actions as a public official and he greeted the greatest of challenges with courage and humor."

Zero Breast Cancer honors Hal Brown’s memory when it makes an annual tribute to leaders of businesses, non-profits, and healthcare organizations who work to improve the community’s health and support ZBC’s ideals and goals.

In 2016, ZBC recognized three up and coming leaders who are making a big investment in our community. JT and Jake Peterson, and colleague Marcus Hall, run Ripped Body Fitness in Mill Valley. These young men are the best of their generation; they work hard, play hard and focus on healthy living in every respect, including giving back to the community in many generous ways.
